MAKING MEDIEVAL ARROWHEADS

MAKING MEDIEVAL ARROWHEADS

Recently I had a great day of medieval  arrowhead making in Nigel Stenning’s forge  in the beautiful Sussex village of Ditchling.
I made a few bodkins by myself during the long day and Nigel demonstrated to me his great skill by making a diamond shaped bodkin in 3.5 min from one heat. Very impressive!

Nigel also runs,  most weekends,  the traditional smithy at Michelham Priory in Upper Dicker, Sussex, where he makes  traditional iron works and quite often different types of medieval arrowheads.
